The Stable channel has been updated to 13.0.782.220 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame.

We're revoking trust for SSL certificates issued by DigiNotar-controlled intermediate CAs used by the Dutch PKIoverheid program. For more details about the security issues see the Google Security Blog post about DigiNotar and an update from Mozilla, who is also moving to revoke trust in these certificates.

As you may have heard, things are starting to look a little different across many Google products—and today, Blogger is the next product to get a makeover.

It’s been a few years since we made major updates to Blogger’s look and feel, and there’s a lot more to these changes than just shiny new graphics. We’ve rewritten the entire editing and management experience from scratch so it’s faster and more efficient for you—and easier for us to update and improve over time.

Throughout the design process, we conducted user interviews to help identify how to make Blogger even easier and more enjoyable to use. We also watched users try our new interface and made many refinements based on their feedback.

A streamlined blogging experience
Whether you’re on a dashboard or settings page of blogger.com, you can always create or edit posts with just one click at the top of the screen. Additionally, the post editor has been expanded and simplified to give you a larger canvas for drafting and previewing your work.

Monitor and grow your audience at a glance
In the new “Overview” section of your dashboard, you’ll be able to quickly get a pulse for how people are reacting to your blog with a graph of your most recent traffic numbers, comment activity and follower counts. For extra guidance and inspiration, you’ll also find a list of helpful links, a feed of Blogger updates and a showcase of other blogs you may find interesting.

Opt in now
Starting today, we’ll gradually let all bloggers choose to turn on the new UI, so your Blogger experience won’t be updated until you enable it. Over the next few days, keep an eye out for a pop-up announcement on your dashboard with instructions on how to get started, and check out this Blogger Help Center page to learn more about what’s changed.

New iPhone 5 Rumor Points to Metal Chassis and Smaller Screen

We’ve already shown you photos of what appears to be the rear plate of a next gen iPhone today, but new claims from infamous industry blog DigiTimes could throw even more confusion onto an already mind-bending situation.

In a new report, DigiTimes has set about debunking a supposedly leaked video claiming a 4.2″ iPhone 5 is imminent. The problem? The video they’re so upset about was clearly a fake…

“Despite rumors about iPhone 5 featuring a 4.2-inch panel circulating within the IT market for a while, following a leak from Apple’s website in Switzerland in early August”

If we disregard the video, DigiTimes’ sources suggest that the iPhone 5 will sport a 3.5-3.7″ screen, “with a design to allow the bezel of the panel to become thinner and make the screen look larger.”

The most interesting claim is that the new model’s ear plate will be made from a metal construction, which doesn’t entirely jive with our iPhone 5 photos. This may be more evidence that Apple will unveil two new iPhones in the coming weeks, or just that the Cupertino company has been experimenting with different materials.

If yet more rumors are to be believed, we might not have too long to wait before we find out just what Apple has up its sleeve. A late-September or early-October announcement is becoming increasingly likely, with a release coming a few short weeks after that.

At this point, it’s becoming so hard to know who to believe that we’re just as confused now as we were a couple of months ago, but the idea of an iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 coming to market in the next few weeks is beginning to make sense, with Apple possibly killing off the iPhone 4 once and for all.

Given the choice, and depending on specifications, would you rather go for an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5?

CUPERTINO, California—August 24, 2011—Apple’s Board of Directors today announced that Steve Jobs has resigned as Chief Executive Officer, and the Board has named Tim Cook, previously Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, as the company’s new CEO. Jobs has been elected Chairman of the Board and Cook will join the Board, effective immediately.

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Social Studies and Chinese Prelim exam

Tuesday and Wednesday is Social Studies and Chinese Prelim exam respectively. Social Studies was ok, can do but Chinese Paper sucks! Its like not Prelim exam but was like O' Level exam. IT SUCKS! But done the last year N' Level paper and was easy like shit! HAHAS!
So the rest of papers, I hope I can pass with FLYING COLOURS!

A Summary of All the Crazy iPhone 5 Rumors [Infographic]

It seems like the rumors and speculation for Apple’s upcoming smartphone have been non-stop over the last couple of months. To make things even more confusing, a lot of the information is completely contradictory.

Is it going to be a modest upgrade or will Apple give it a major overhaul? Will it launch in September or October? How are we supposed to keep up with all of it? Luckily, the folks over at The Next Web were kind enough to help put everything in perspective with this infographic…

The hard work was done by the Infographic Labs team. Their image not only lists several of the iPhone 5 rumors we’ve heard over the last few months, but it also predicts the likelihood of the gossip materializing this Fall.

I think you’ll agree with most of the predictions on here, save for the 60% chance it gives iCloud integration. We’ve already seen several instances of iCloud embedded into iOS 5, which will likely ship with the new hardware.

iOS 5 Beta 5 Set to Expire on September 14

In a recent tweet by iH8sn0w, he has stated that iOS 5 Beta 5 will expire on September 14, 2011. This means that if you use your iDevice past that date and time, it will lock up, forcing you to restore to the GM or final version of iOS 5 (depending on when the final version is released). If haven’t heard already, iOS 5 Beta 5 was released today with some new features.

This date is something to look out for, especially if you don’t want your iDevice to lock you out! If you wan’t to keep your untethered jailbreak, then you will have to downgrade with SHSH blobs. This is very interesting because the expiration date is pointing for a late-August to early-September release.

Wondering what’s new in iOS 5 Beta 5? Well, really not that much. At least nothing worth making a note of.

Accounts

When creating an iCloud account, you can use any Apple ID as long as it is a full email address and not a MobileMe account. If you have a MobileMe account, you can move that account to iCloud. You can find more information on iCloud at: http://developer.apple.com/icloud

When setting up an iCloud or MobileMe account using the setup assistant and leaving Find My iPhone on, it might actually turn Find my iPhone off after the setup. Please verify in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendar/YourAccount that Find my iPhone is toggled On after leaving the setup assistant.

NEW: Enabling iCloud services in Setup Assistant may not always be saved correctly. After completing Setup Assistant you should visit Settings > iCloud to verify the state of the iCloud account. If you have multiple iCloud or MobileMe accounts configured on the device you should also visit each of those accounts in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar to verify each account.

It is recommended that you disable Bookmarks on multiple accounts. If they are enabled, the results might be undefined.

AirPlay

Starting in iOS 5, video content in applications and websites are AirPlay-enabled by default.

iOS 5 supports AirPlay of video via AV Foundation.

Apple TV

Apple TV Software beta enables users to mirror the contents of an iPad 2 to an Apple TV (2nd generation) using AirPlay. This beta software also enables Photo Stream on Apple TV so users can access photos stored in iCloud. Apple TV Software beta is being provided to test the latest AirPlay functionality with your iOS 5 apps and web sites. If you wish to install Apple TV Software beta on your device, you must first register your device UDID in the iOS Developer Program Portal.

Calendar

Birthday calendars are not currently available via the icloud.com website or in Windows. They will be available in a future release.

NEW: The default calendar is still the On My iPhone calendar despite setting up an iCloud account during Setup Assistant. As a workaround, reset the default Calendar after finishing Setup Assistant in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Default Calendar.

NEW: Pushing iCloud Calendar data is not working in iOS. To sync your iCloud Calendar, launch the Calendar app or refresh the calendars manually using the Calendars button in the top left corner.

Core Image

Several filters have been added since beta 1. GameKit

Match data for turn based matches is currently limited to 4 KB of data.

NEW: When logging in to Game Center, the password may clear and login may not complete. Trying a second time will succeed.

NEW: In this beta, GameKit Invites may fail. As a workaround, try restarting the device.

iBooks

iBooks 1.2.2 may fail to display some text or images in books. Please update to iBooks 1.3 in the App Store.

iCloud Backup

As this is beta software, it is recommended that you do not use the iCloud services to store any critical data or information. If you enable iCloud Backup, automatic backup with iTunes when syncing will be disabled. We also suggest that you manually back up your device with iTunes. Backups made with earlier versions of iOS 5 beta will soon become incompatible, and will no longer be available. It is strongly advised you upgrade to this version of the iOS 5 beta in order to continue backing up your devices. If you encounter errors restoring from a backup, or enabling a backup more than one hour after signing into iCloud, try deleting your iCloud account from Settings and adding it back. If errors persist, please try erasing your device and initiating the restore again.

iCloud Storage

During the iOS 5 beta period, any documents stored on the servers might be purged periodically before GM. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you do not store any critical documents or information on the servers.

NEW: Provisioning Profiles no longer need to be enabled for iCloud in the iOS Provisioning Portal. All newly generated provisioning profiles are now automatically enabled for iCloud. If you are using an Xcode managed Team Provisioning Profile, click refresh in the Xcode Organizer to obtain a new iCloud-enabled profile. To enable all other provisioning profiles for iCloud, simply regenerate your profiles in the iOS Provisioning Portal.

If your application is using the NSMetadataQuery class, you must set a predicate, even though the predicate itself is ignored.

In this beta, the setSortDescriptors: method of NSMetadataQuery is not supported.

FIXED: To use iCloud prior to beta 5, you had to manually specify various container identifiers (your application’s Display set) within an Entitlements file for both of your Mac OS X and iOS projects.Starting in beta 5, to enable iCloud storage within your apps, simply click the “Enable Entitlements” checkbox in the Summary pane of your project. Xcode will create a custom entitlements file for your project that automatically includes your Team ID. You can add additional iCloud Container values as required by your application. (Note that you must regenerate your existing provisioning profiles, either with Xcode or in the iOS Provisioning Portal, to use iCloud storage.)If you specify a custom identifier string for your iCloud Key-Value Store or iCloud Container entitlement values, you no longer need to prepend your Team ID to the beginning of the string. Xcode will prepend your Team ID to these entries automatically

The container identifier string you pass to the URLForUbiquityContainerIdentifier: method of NSFileManager MUST include the team ID at the beginning of the string. As a convenience, if you pass nil, Foundation uses the first document container ID specified in your app’s entitlements.

There are issues using the Cloud Storage document API in conjunction with protected data which can lead to data corruption.

FIXED: In this beta, document-based applications cannot always detect when files change, move, or are deleted out from underneath them.

In this beta, file presenters (objects that adopt the NSFilePresenter protocol) do not receive some of the messages that they’re supposed to receive, especially:

presentedSubitemDidAppearAtURL:

presentedSubitemDidChangeAtURL:

You can workaround this by implementing the relinquishPresentedItemToWriter: method and checking to see if the writer actually wrote when your file presenter reacquires. You can also use FSEvents to observe file system changes

In this beta, messages about changes to files in a directory are not getting delivered to objects that adopt the NSFilePresenter protocol.

While reporting a bug related to the iCloud storage interfaces, please include the logs collected during your debugging session. To generate these logs, you must install a special debug profile on your device.The debug profile can be obtained from http://connect.apple.com. This profile enables the generation of debug logs that are needed to diagnose any problems using iCloud storage. The instructions to collect the logs are:

Install the profile. (The easiest way to do this is to mail it to yourself and open the attachment on their device.)

Reproduce the bug.

Sync with iTunes to pull the logs off your device.

Attach the logs to your bug report. You can find the logs in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/DeviceName/DiagnosticLogs.

These logs can grow large very quickly, so you should remove the profile after you have reproduced the problem and pulled the logs for the bug report.

NEW: File names are case-insensitive in OS X but case-sensitive in iOS. This can lead to problems when syncing files between the two. You should take steps on iOS to avoid creating files whose names differ only by case.

iMessage

iMessage beta 1 will be unable to communicate with iMessage users on beta 2 or later.

iPod

NEW: When using the volume buttons on the device, or on headphones, the volume slider in the UI of applications may not update even though the volume level has changed.

iTunes

The version of iTunes that comes with beta 5 cannot sync devices that have the beta 4 software installed. To avoid this problem, do the following:

Sync any devices that have beta 4 installed to the version of iTunes that came with beta 4.

Upgrade iTunes to the version that comes with beta 5.

Connect the device and install the beta 5 software. (Understand that you might see a failure to sync error when you first connect the device.)

After installing the beta 5 software, restore from your the backup you made in step 1.

Videos purchased from the iTunes Store do not play on a 2nd generation AppleTV over AirPlay with iTunes 10.5.

Location

FIXED: The startMonitoringSignificantLocationChanges method of CLLocationManager does not cause applications to be resumed or launched in the background for significant location change updates. However, if a backup from a previous software version (where an application was monitoring significant location changes) is restored to the device, significant location change monitoring will continue to cause that application to be resumed or launched in the background.

Mail

FIXED: Forwarding a message with attachments included does not attach the file and the message compose screen does not change from “Loading….”

NEW: When changing the host name of an email account in settings, blank messages may be seen in the unified inbox. As a workaround, delete and re-add the account instead of changing its host name.

Music Library

FIXED: Some songs are missing their album artwork after changing the device library via syncing.

OpenGL ES

FIXED: In iOS 5.0 beta 4, several OpenGL ES extensions have been moved from the APPLE namespace to the EXT namespace, causing some API to be renamed. The altered extensions are EXT_color_buffer_half_float,EXT_occlusion_query_boolean, EXT_separate_shader_objects, EXT_shadow_samplers, EXT_texture_rg, EXT_debug_label, and EXT_debug_marker.

OTA Software Update

If you are doing an OTA software update, you will need to re-sync your photos with iTunes.”

Personal HotSpot

FIXED: In this beta, iPhone 4 device cannot join personal hotspot even if it is on due to a non functional Wi-Fi tethering on these devices.

Photos

FIXED: If you apply red-eye adjustments in iOS, and import your image into the iPhoto seed build, the red-eye adjustments will not appear on that image in iPhoto. As a result, subsequent syncing of your image back to the iOS device from iPhoto will not show the red-eye adjustments.

NEW: When restoring photo libraries from an iTunes backup, some photos may not appear in the Photos application after restore. Please back up your photos before updating to iOS Beta 5.

Simulator

Location services are not functional in iOS 4.3 simulator running on Mac OS 10.7 with Xcode 4.2.

Springboard

Push and local notifications for apps appear in the new Notification Center in iOS 5. Notification Center displays notifications that are considered “unread.” In order to accommodate push and local notifications that have no “unread” status, developers can use their application badge count to trigger a clearing of notifications from Notification Center. When an application clears its badge count (by setting it to zero), iOS 5 will clear its notifications from Notification Center.

FIXED: iOS 5.0 terminates VoIP applications that are resumed in the background for incoming network traffic with extreme frequency. Developers are encouraged to make sure all incoming data is read from VoIP sockets to avoid this condition.

NEW: The UIPrerenderedIcon key (in the Info.plist file) is not honored in this build.

StoreKit

NEW: In-App purchase will not work for developers testing their apps with the iTunes Sandbox.

Twitter

FIXED: When tweeting your location from Safari and exiting before the location can be established, the location arrow will stay in the status bar. The arrow can be removed by killing Safari from the task switcher.

UI Automation

FIXED: Instruments overwrites the loaded automation script, even if another program is editing it.

FIXED: The play and record buttons in the Automation instrument script editor may not work properly after targeting an application that was launched by a trace session and has ended. They may also not work if you target an application that was suspended. If you run into this problem and it persists, you may need to close and reopen the trace document to get back into a functional state.

FIXED: When capturing actions into a script using the Automation instrument, interfaces with web views or table cells that contain a high number of off screen elements may take an extremely long time before returning with an expression.

The lock() and unlock() functions of UIATarget have been replaced with the lockForDuration(<seconds>) function.

Starting in iOS 5 beta 2, you can now trigger the execution of an UI Automation script on an iOS device from the host terminal by using the instruments tool. The command is:

instruments -w <device id> -t <template> <application>

When using the cli instruments for UI Automation you can now target the default Automation Template and pass the script and results path into the tool as environment variable options. For example:

instruments -w <device id> -t /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/Library/Instruments/PlugIns/AutomationInstrument.bundle/Contents/Resources/Automation.tracetemplate <application> -e UIASCRIPT <script> -e UIARESULTSPATH <results path>

UIKit

Starting in iOS 5 beta 3, the exclusiveTouch property of UIControl has returned to its original default value of NO.

Returning nil from the tableView:viewForHeaderInSection: method (or its footer equivalent) is no longer sufficient to hide a header. You must override tableView:heightForHeaderInSection: and return0.0 to hide a header.

In the iOS 5 beta, the UITableView class has two methods to move one cell from one row to another with defined parameters. These APIs are:

moveSection:toSection:

moveRowAtIndexPath:toIndexPath:

Using the UIWebView class in Interface Builder, setting transparent background color is possible in iOS 5. Developers compiling against the new SDK can check their XIB for the UIWebView transparent setting.

In the iOS 5 beta, the UINavigationBar, UIToolbar, and UITabBar implementations have changed so that the drawRect: method is not called on instances of these classes unless it is implemented in a subclass. Apps that have re-implemented drawRect: in a category on any of these classes will find that the drawRect: method isn’t called. UIKit does link-checking to keep the method from being called in apps linked before iOS 5 but does not support this design on iOS 5 or later. Apps can either:

Use the customization API for bars that in iOS 5 and later, which is the preferred way.

Subclass UINavigationBar (or the other bar classes) and override drawRect: in the subclass.

The indexPathForRow:inSection:, section, and row methods of NSIndexPath now use NSInteger instead of NSUInteger, so that these types match with methods defined on UITableView.

Touch events are not getting forwarded to the view in the cameraOverlayView property of UIImagePickerController.

We have changed the behavior of scrollToRowAtIndexPath:atScrollPosition:animated: such that UITableViewScrollPositionTop and UITableViewScrollPositionBottom now adjust for the top and bottom portions of the contentInset property.

WebKit

In iOS 5, a new inherited CSS property, -webkit-overflow-scrolling, is available. The value touch allows the web developer to opt in to native-style scrolling in an overflow:scroll element. The default value for this property is auto, which allows single-finger scrolling without momentum.

NEW: In beta 5, accessing sites that use client side SSL certificates does not work and may cause the application to crash.

The WebKit framework has picked up a newer WebKit engine, which closely matches Safari 5.1. Some areas to be aware of with the new WebKit framework on iOS:

There is a new HTML5-compliant parser.

Text layout width may change slightly because word-rounding behavior now has floating-point-based precision.

There is improved validation of the <input> form field, which includes removing leading zeros and number formatting.

Touch events are now supported on input fields.

window.onerror is now supported.

There is a new user agent that does not have locale information in the User Agent string.

NEW: URLs are now canonicalized by making the scheme all lowercase. If a fake URL is used to pass information from a UIWebView back to native code, make sure that the scheme is always lowercase, or that the native code compares the scheme in a case-insensitive manner.

Wi-Fi Syncing

In iOS 5 beta 4 and later, wireless syncing is now available on Windows as well as the Mac. (This support requires OS X 10.6.8 or Lion.) You will see an option to enable wireless syncing when you connect your device to iTunes with the USB cable. It is recommended you perform your initial sync with a cable after restoring your device.

Wireless syncing is triggered automatically when the device is connected to power and on the same network as the paired computer. Or, you can manually trigger a sync from iTunes or from Settings > General > iTunes Sync (same network as paired computer required).

If you find issues with apps, media and/or photos synced to your device, you can reset then resync. From Settings > General > Reset, choose Erase all Content and Settings. Then reconnect to iTunes and sync again.

In some cases, your device may fail to sync contacts, calendars and account settings, or back up to iTunes. If this happens, reboot your device and re-sync.

FIXED: In some cases, syncing photos may result in only thumbnails on your device. If this happens, unsync Photos then re-sync again.

Xcode

FIXED: In beta 4, device restores using Xcode were disabled. This has been fixed. Device restores are now enabled and work in Xcode.

In some cases, Xcode 4.2 Organizer does not display a device that is in restore mode. As a workaround you can use iTunes to restore.

In iOS 5 beta 5, iOS Simulator is not compatible with previous releases of the iCloud Developer Seed for OS X. It is highly recommended that you update to the latest iCloud Developer Seed to ensure compatibility.

iOS 5.0 SDK supports both iOS 4.3 and iOS 5.0 simulators.

NEW: Xcode fails to build a Page-based template. You can work around this issue by adding the Core Graphics framework to your project.

Apple Releases iTunes 10.5 Beta 5

Along with the release of iOS 5 Beta 5 earlier today, Apple released the latest beta version of iTunes, iTunes 10.5 Beta 5.

If you’re not going to update your device to iOS 5 Beta 5 over-the-air, Apple recommends you first update via iTunes 10.5 Beta 4, and then update to iTunes 10.5 Beta 5.

Confused? Then read the following release notes:

“To install iOS 5 beta 5 using over the air software update, you must first erase all content and settings on your device by choosing Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Over the air software update can be initiated on devices running iOS 5 beta 3 and later by choosing Settings > General > Software Update.

Be sure to backup your devices using iTunes 10.5 beta 4 or through iCloud backup prior to installing iOS 5 beta 5. After installing iOS 5 beta 5, you can restore your device using either iTunes 10.5 beta 5 or through your iCloud backup.”

As far as I can tell, this version of iTunes is jailbreak safe.

As always, iTunes 10.5 Beta 5 is for developers only.

Apple Releases iOS 5 Beta 5

Roughly two weeks after releasing iOS 5 Beta 4, Apple just unleashed iOS 5 Beta 5 minutes ago.

According to Apple, in order to install iOS 5 beta 5 over-the-air, you will first have to backup your device through iCloud. Then delete everything on your device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and then Settings. Finally, start the over-the-air update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

You may also update via iTunes 10.5 Beta 4 by first backing up your device and downloading the full firmware, then update to iTunes 10.5 Beta 5 and restore from your latest backup.

As usual, you can download iOS 5 Beta 5 from the Apple Dev Center, assuming you have a developer account.

We haven’t had time to update to iOS 5 Beta 5 yet, but we’ll let you know if we find anything interesting once we do.

Went swimming a few hours ago...

Went to Sengkang Swimming Complex and have a nice swim. Be4 I reach there, Ben called me and said that he was playing Badminton over there. O.o Aft that went swimming. Swam for abot 2hours? Yeahs. Went bck home, took bus 372 to Sengkang Interchange den took bus 87 back to my house. Aft swimming was wow.. NICE!!! Back home, to revise and will hv my dinner soon. Goodbye guys!

Hey girl, i'm sorry for yesterday. I didn't explain to you what happen... Sorry. Let me explain it over here, I hope you read this.

During Geography lesson, relieve teacher take over. Me, *someone1*, *someone2* and the rest were sitting near my place. *someone1* took my keys and put it in your bag without you noticing it. Next, *someone3* took your PE clothes and place it in my bag. I didn't realise it until Physics lesson. *of coz, I dare not to touch it* PE lesson, I want to walk over to your place and tell you that you that but you have came to take it back. I said nothing and you too. For that moment, I knew that you already turn a blind eye on me. I didn't explain it to you because I at that point of time, I don't even know how to explain to you. Something just shut my mouth. After that, I was silent in class, no mood of talking and studying. Complete silent of me through out the whole day in school and also in CIP. In summary, i'm sorry.

PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March of 2012. Managing the site has become too stressful.

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th of next year, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts. That gives users (and Facebook addicts) a year to adjust to life without Facebook.

“After March 15th, 2012 the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back after Facebook goes out of business.”

Zuckerberg said the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.

“What am I going to do without Facebook?” said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. “My life revolves around it. I’m on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?”

However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief.

“I’m glad the Facebook nightmare is over,” said Jon Guttari, a single parent from Detroit. “Now my teenager’s face won’t be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her.”

Those in the financial industry are criticizing Zuckerberg for walking away from a multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of the wealthiest businesses in the world, with economists estimating its value at around 7.9 billion.

But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He said he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the axe.

“I don’t care about the money,” said Zuckerberg. “I just want my old life back.”

The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th, 2012. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased.

Firefox 4 beats IE9 out of the gate in usage

Chrome and Safari continue to gain share of worldwide usage while IE and Firefox continue to lose. Note that statistics shifted in February 2011 a little because of updated population figures changed how much some countries were weighted.

Despite arriving a week later,
Firefox 4 is outpacing Internet Explorer 9 in real-world use so far, new statistics show.

Microsoft released IE9 on March 14, and Mozilla's Firefox 4 arrived on March 22--both brand-new even by the fast-moving standards of today's software market. By month's end, IE9 accounted for 1.0 percent of browsing activity worldwide, according to statistics from analytics firm Net Applications. Firefox 4, though, reached 1.7 percent, despite its later start.

Firefox 4 has a big advantage in usage statistics over IE9: Windows XP. Mozilla's browser works on the decade-old operating system, but IE9 requires Windows Vista SP2 or
Windows 7. Given that Windows XP machines represent 54.4 percent of the usage on the Internet right now to Windows 7's 24.2 percent and Vista's 10.6 percent, Windows XP is a big ally even if the growth is with Windows 7.

IE9 has injected a massive dose of new competition into the browser market. Microsoft's browser supports a raft of new Web standards, led the charge for hardware acceleration, and offers much higher performance than its predecessors. But IE still isn't the browser of the technophiles, so it's reasonable to expect IE9's usage to trail that of Firefox.

Expect usage of both to increase more when people are actively encouraged to update.

"Firefox 3.x users have not yet received a major update, but will receive it soon (usually, major updates come 60-90 days after a major release). If they check for an update manually, they of course will find Firefox 4," said Mozilla spokeswoman Valerie Ponell.

As for Microsoft, "Internet Explorer 9 will not be broadly rolled out on Windows Update until the end of June," said Ryan Gavin, senior director of IE business and marketing, in a blog post.

When all versions were taken into account, IE still leads the overall market with 55.9 percent of usage in March, with Firefox in second place at 21.8 percent. Only IE, though, ceded share to the up-and-coming browsers in the market right now, Google's Chrome and Apple's
Safari.

IE dropped 0.9 percentage points from February to March, while Firefox staved off the rivals with a 0.1 percentage point gain. That's not much, but it's a stronger showing than the steady losses that Firefox has experienced since reaching its high-water mark of 24.7 percent of usage in November 2009.

Chrome continued its steady rise, from 10.9 percent to 11.6 percent. Safari rose from 6.4 percent to 6.6 percent. And fifth-place Opera stayed level at 2.2 percent for both February and March.

Net Applications' statistics are based on the activity of about 160 million visitors per month to Web sites using its services. It adjusted its technique slightly for February's statistics after the U.S. government released new per-country Internet usage statistics that the company factors into its results.

For example, IE got a small boost in February because it's widely used in China, which showed higher Internet usage, while Firefox slipped a bit.

"This adjustment corrects an increasing inaccuracy over time as population shifts occur and reflects reality more closely than unadjusted numbers," Net Applications said last month.

Yesterday, went to Anchorville Community Centre(CC) for swimming. I swam for about 2 hours. NO JOKE! My hand is getting tired, my leg too. Today, when I woke up. PAIN!!! My stomach suddenly was PAIN like HELL!!! JOKE ASIDE!!! Recalled back, I was swimming 2 hours in the freaking cold pool. LOLs! I hope I will get recovered soon, FAST!

Hi guys, long time never post about my life during holidays. HAHA! Lets start off with Today! Today wake up early in the morning to do stretching, all kinds of exercise. After that, went to Anchorville with Nava for swimming. For just 1hr? LOLs! It has been 3 years since I stop swimming so kind of no breath when swimming. HAHA! So, tomorrow I will be going to swim again at the same place, morning. Yeahs. This time, with my cousin. :D

Hey guys, so long I never even step on Blogger. OMG! So I will be writing posts from Wednesday, 16-02-11 to today, 23-02-11.

Common Test 1
Wednesday, 16-02-11. We had our Common Test 1 and it was English Language. Paper 1 was tested in the morning at 8AM to 8.50AM. It suppose to end at 9AM but because of one **** teacher walk in the class and change the ending time to 8:50AM! She said that because the paper was only Compre and no summary, you only need 50 mins to finish the paper. We was like WTF! At 8:50AM sharp, the teacher-in-charge collects the paper and we all CANNOT finish the paper!!! Kill us! WTF! Our English Teacher collected the paper from the Teacher-In-Charge and he was shocked to see that we were only have 50 mins of finishing the paper. WTF! We were all complaining and complaining and COMPLAINING!!! WTF! Surely FAIL! After that, during English Lesson, Teacher-In-Charge gave us another test for summary and a full 45 mins and we all finish it in time. GOOD! We hope we will pass English!
Thursday, 17-02-11. Social Studies(SS), I finally know what to do for Source Based Question(SBQ) and Structured Essay Question(SEQ). But, I hope I can pass!
Friday, 18-02-11. We had our X-Country. So NO test!
Monday, 21-02-11. Mother Tongue. Was somehow easy, yeahs. Finish it in time!
Tuesday, 22-02-11. Combined Sci! The paper was easy but TRICKY! Even ... ... don't know how to do. LOLs!
Today, 23-02-11. We had Math! Was cool! I know the formula. But, wasn't finish it in time. LOLs! Hope to pass!

Has anyone you know ever lost control of an email account and inadvertently sent spam—or worse—to their friends and family? There are plenty of examples (like the classic "Mugged in London" scam) that demonstrate why it's important to take steps to help secure your activities online. Your Gmail account, your photos, your private documents—if you reuse the same password on multiple sites and one of those sites gets hacked, or your password is conned out of you directly through a phishing scam, it can be used to access some of your most closely-held information.

Most of us are used to entrusting our information to a password, but we know that some of you are looking for something stronger. As we announced to our Google Apps customers a few months ago, we've developed an advanced opt-in security feature called 2-step verification that makes your Google Account significantly more secure by helping to verify that you're the real owner of your account. Now it's time to offer the same advanced protection to all of our users.

2-step verification requires two independent factors for authentication, much like you might see on your banking website: your password, plus a code obtained using your phone. Over the next few days, you'll see a new link on your Account Settings page that looks like this:

Take your time to carefully set up 2-step verification—we expect it may take up to 15 minutes to enroll. A user-friendly set-up wizard will guide you through the process, including setting up a backup phone and creating backup codes in case you lose access to your primary phone. Once you enable 2-step verification, you'll see an extra page that prompts you for a code when you sign in to your account. After entering your password, Google will call you with the code, send you an SMS message or give you the choice to generate the code for yourself using a mobile application on your Android, BlackBerry or iPhone device. The choice is up to you. When you enter this code after correctly submitting your password we'll have a pretty good idea that the person signing in is actually you.

It's an extra step, but it's one that significantly improves the security of your Google Account because it requires the powerful combination of both something you know—your username and password—and something that only you should have—your phone. A hacker would need access to both of these factors to gain access to your account. If you like, you can always choose a "Remember verification for this computer for 30 days" option, and you won't need to re-enter a code for another 30 days. You can also set up one-time application-specific passwords to sign in to your account from non-browser based applications that are designed to only ask for a password, and cannot prompt for the code.

Additionally, this version of Flash Player offers all the new capabilities previewed in our beta release, like custom native mouse cursors, multiple monitor full-screen support, Internet Explorer 9 hardware accelerated rendering support, and enhanced sub-pixel rendering for superior text readability.

In The City That Knows How*, A History of Moving Images

Here in San Francisco, we’ve had a bit of tradition around changing how folks see the world with images. In the 1870s, a San Francisco photographer named Eadweard Muybridge captured some of the earliest motion pictures. In 1927, Philo Farnsworth transmitted the first electronic television image in his laboratory on 202 Green Street.

And way back in 2002, a small team in San Francisco introduced video in Flash Player, bringing seamless video to 9 in 10 connected computers – allowing video to become an integral part of the web. Three years ago, that team introduced H.264 video to over 93 percent of users, bringing immersive high quality video to more people than ever. Flash Player has helped create a beautiful web that moves and connects. Flash Player 10.2 continues that tradition by introducing Stage Video: smoother, more efficient, more beautiful HD video for the web.

Bringing Beautiful Video to the Stage

Stage Video lets websites take advantage of full hardware acceleration of the entire video pipeline. This builds on the H.264 hardware accelerated decoding in Flash Player 10.1. Stage Video hardware acceleration means that Flash Player can play even higher quality video while using dramatically less processing power, giving users a better experience, greater performance, and longer battery life. In our testing across supported systems, we’ve found it’s up to 34 times more efficient.

Put another way, Flash Player using Stage Video can effortlessly play beautiful 1080p HD video with just 1-15% CPU usage on a common Mac or Windows computer* – working across platforms and browsers, it will enable the best video experience for the most people. Many millions of additional PCs, from netbooks to desktops, can now become slick HD home theaters on the web.

Note that Stage Video performance gains might not be visible right away. Websites and content providers will first need to update their video players before users experience Stage Video playback with Flash Player 10.2 on their sites. For developers, this typically means updating a SWF player file. However, no changes are needed to existing video libraries or infrastructure, and websites just continue to leverage Flash Player benefits including unmatched reach, advanced streaming capabilities, DVR-like playback control, rich interactivity, content protection, and consistency. Since adoption of new Flash Player releases is accelerating, websites can expect that many of the over 1 billion people with Flash Player will be ready to benefit from Stage Video in Flash Player 10.2 soon.

Companies like Vimeo, Brightcove, Epix, and YouTube have already started work to enable support for Stage Video to deliver amazing video playback experiences. You’ll be seeing them enable Stage Video performance in the near future. And you can try examples of Stage Video today after upgrading to Flash Player 10.2. Tens of thousands of sites will be enabled by the Brightcove player, and Jeff Whatcott at Brightcove explains, “Brightcove is continually innovating to deliver great video experiences. We love to keep up on the latest technologies, and if those technologies also enhance the user experience for our users then it’s a win-win.” Folks that want to deliver gorgeous, smooth HD video to more people than ever have reason to be excited, and more and more sites will enable Stage Video in the coming months.

Additional New Capabilities in Flash Player 10.2

Along with the new Stage Video architecture, we’re adding features in Flash Player 10.2 to enable even more polished experiences.

Video at its best is immersive, so Flash Player allows you jump to true full screen playback with one click. With multiple display full screen support in Flash Player 10.2, you can now easily watch your favorite videos in true full screen on one display while you multitask on another and get some work done (or not).
Added support for custom native mouse cursors lets designers and developers create their own static or animated cursors with silky smooth responsiveness, enabling richer game and application interfaces.
New sub-pixel text rendering enhancements leverage Adobe typography research to further enhance text readability, especially for complex character-based languages.

2dae, went out with Nava, Pradhib, Satesh & Prem to Ikea @ Tampanies to do D&T N' Level Project Work. We must go take pictures of the N' Level Theme. In the bus to Tampanies, we were sitting down at the back at different places. Got 1 girl sit beside me becoz the bus is full. Dat girl, keep looking at me innocently. Everytym, I receive a message, she will look at me. LOLs! She kinda acting-cute? Yeah. HAHA! Next, Took lots of pictures at Ikea and for me, I share it with Nava becoz I do nt hv Camera. SAD SAD. Aft spending hours dere, we are goin hm separate ways. Satesh & Pradhib going together, Nava wif Family. Me & Prem went to Giant, I went to buy Sushi and Prem go dere n eat. HE IS SUPER-LISIOUS HUNGRY!!! In other words, Very Hungry! LOLs! Aft dat, he went to tak bus 34 and me bus 27 back hm. ALONE!
